Our History
The birth of Shekinah Kingdom Assembly (SKA) is rooted in a divine encounter and a heavenly mandate to raise a generation that walks in the fullness of God’s presence, power, and purpose. The name “Shekinah”, meaning the dwelling or manifest presence of God, reflects the ministry’s calling to be a place where God’s glory abides among His people (Exodus 24:16–17; Haggai 2:9).
Divine Vision and Calling
In a season of deep consecration, prayer, and fasting, the Lord placed a burden upon His servant, Frere Dieudonnee Kokole, to build an interdenominational assembly that would manifest the reality of the Kingdom of God on earth through the Word, Worship, and Prayer. This divine calling was not the product of human ambition but a response to a heavenly vision, to prepare a people who live by the principles of the Kingdom and carry God’s presence into every sphere of life.
As recorded in Habakkuk 2:2, “Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.” The vision was clearly articulated and shared with a few committed believers who embraced it with faith and passion, forming the earliest fellowship that would later become Shekinah Kingdom Assembly.
The Founder’s Journey
Frere Dieudonnee Kokole, a servant of God with a strong interdenominational foundation and years of ministry experience, had served in various Christian denominations of CECA 20, the Catholic Church, the Anglican faith, and the Pentecostal church. His fervent dedication is to worship, intercession, and discipleship. Through years of service and encounters with the Holy Spirit, he developed a deep conviction that the Church must return to her original mandate, to be a dwelling place for God’s presence and an agent of transformation in the world.
The experiences of spiritual awakening, community service, and leadership under divine guidance shaped his understanding that God desired a new platform where believers from different denominations could unite in the Spirit, beyond religious walls, to advance the Kingdom of Christ.
The Birth of the Ministry
With this conviction, Shekinah Kingdom Assembly was officially launched in Koboko District, Uganda, as a fellowship of believers hungry for revival and restoration. The first gathering where known as WWP (Word, Worship, and Prayer) and this was characterized by passionate worship, fervent prayer, and a tangible manifestation of God’s glory, confirming that the Lord had indeed ordained this work.
From its earliest meetings, Shekinah Kingdom Assembly established itself as a place of the Word, Worship, and Prayer, the three pillars that form its spiritual identity. The ministry quickly began to attract men and women from different denominational backgrounds who shared a common hunger for God’s presence.
Early Growth and Development
Through consistent teaching of the Word and the operation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, Shekinah Kingdom Assembly began to grow both spiritually and numerically. Fellowship meetings turned into training grounds for discipleship and leadership development. Ministry departments were formed to strengthen worship, outreach, intercession, and community impact.
Despite challenges that often accompany new beginnings, the ministry continued to stand strong through prayer, unity, and unwavering faith in God’s promises. The Lord confirmed His word with signs, answered prayers, and transformed lives, leading many to deeper intimacy with Christ.
Expansion and Impact
Shekinah Kingdom Assembly gradually expanded its reach beyond Koboko, inspiring and connecting believers across other parts of Uganda and beyond. The ministry launched evangelistic outreaches and crusades, discipleship seminars, worship nights, and intercessory gatherings, touching both urban and rural communities.
Partnerships were formed with like-minded ministries and Christian networks to advance missions, community service, and spiritual transformation. Through these collaborations, Shekinah Kingdom Assembly began to live out its name, becoming a visible expression of God’s Shekinah glory in communities and nations.
Theological and Kingdom Emphasis
Shekinah Kingdom Assembly’s message is centered on the Kingdom of God, emphasizing the believer’s identity, authority, and purpose in Christ. The assembly stands firmly on the principles of Scripture and the power of the Holy Spirit, encouraging holiness, unity, and excellence in all areas of ministry.
The ministry’s core pillars, Word, Worship, and Prayer, represent the divine pattern for building a people in whom God delights to dwell. The assembly’s teachings emphasize spiritual maturity, service, and the empowerment of believers to influence every domain of society with Kingdom values.
Present State and Future Vision
Today, Shekinah Kingdom Assembly continues to flourish as a Christ-centered and Spirit-filled assembly, committed to equipping believers and expanding the frontiers of God’s Kingdom. Under the visionary leadership of Frere Dieudonnee Kokole, Shekinah Kingdom Assembly remains devoted to raising disciples, nurturing leaders, and transforming communities for Christ.
Looking to the future, Shekinah Kingdom Assembly seeks to establish more centers of worship, training, and community impact across nations, fulfilling its divine mandate to “raise a generation rooted in the Word, empowered by the Spirit, and transformed to influence nations for Christ.”
As the ministry continues to grow, it holds steadfast to this promise:
“For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.”, Habakkuk 2:14
